On the surface, these new handsets look like incremental upgrades overall, pulling more premium features from the company’s most capable devices and swapping out select pieces of hardware for higher quality alternatives. Are the improvements meaningful enough to warrant upgrading?
We’ve already reviewed both 4G phones, so read our Realme 7 review or 7 Pro review to find out what we think of the new phones, or read on for a summary of the specs, price, and more.
If you’re interested in a review of the Realme 7 5G – which it’s worth noting sport notably different hardware to the standard Realme 7 (from its processor to its cameras), we’ll have one read for you in the next week or so.
When and where is the Realme 7 Series available?
Realme launched the Realme 7 and 7 Pro on 3 September in India, with the UK and European launch following on 7 October. Both phones are now on sale.
The third member of the Realme 7 family – the Realme 7 5G – featured as part of Realme’s Real Deal 5G livestream event on 19 November and is available to pre-order now, with availability from 27 November.
How much do the Realme 7, Realme 7 Pro and Realme 7 5G cost?
Here’s how the Realme 7 prices break down with specs:
4GB RAM + 64GB storage – £1796GB RAM + 64GB storage – £1998GB RAM + 128GB storage – £239
While the Realme 7 Pro is simpler, with just one SKU available:
8GB RAM + 128GB storage – £279
The Realme 7 5G also comes in a single SKU:
6GB RAM + 128GB – £279
The Realme 6 and 6 Pro cost £219 and £299 when they hit the UK market, so it’s an encouraging sign that Realme has actually managed to reduce prices from those models.
As for the 7 series specifically, the Realme 7 Pro will be available for £269 (rather than £279) from 24 November, while the latest Realme 7 5G will cost just £229 from 27 November, with all of the company’s Black Friday discounts ending on 30 November.
What are the Realme 7’s specs and features?
Aside from a bigger battery and near-enough the same camera as the 7 Pro, the main talking point has to be MediaTek’s Helio G95 chipset. The Realme 7 is the first phone to debut this silicon and brings some promising affordable gaming performance to the table.

Features like Starry Mode, which both phones benefit from, won’t arrive on the 7 until after launch by way of a software update. But if you want to see what that mode is capable of, check out our Realme X3 SuperZoom review in the meantime.
What are the Realme 7 Pro’s specs and features?
Oddly, Realme chose to drop the high refresh-rate display when moving from the 6 Pro to the 7 Pro, in exchange for an upgrade from LCD to OLED, a change apparently informed by user feedback. The Pro’s display is also fractionally smaller, while the battery is 500mAh smaller than the 7’s too – but elsewhere it’s a clear upgrade, with better cameras, faster charging, and a Qualcomm processor.

You also get a superior front-facing camera compared to the Realme 7 and perhaps most impressively of all, the 65W SuperDart fast charging that debuted on the Realme X50 Pro 5G. Realme claims the 7 Pro charges to full in just 34 minutes.
What are the Realme 7 5G’s specs and features?
Late to the party due to COVID-induced supply issues, the price/performance balance struck by the Realme 7 5G looks as though it was worth the wait. It’s important to reiterate that despite the name, the Realme 7 5G isn’t just a Realme 7 with a speedier modem, it sports some notably different hardware.
It’s the first phone to market (outside of China) showcasing MediaTek’s Dimensity 800U SoC, which promises solid performance and brings dual-SIM 5G support to mid-range space. Here’s the full rundown of Realme 7 5G specs.

Other notable differences to the standard 7 are the move to a 48Mp main camera and the marginally different dimensions.
